Your love is conditional

20120916-173425.jpg

I know everything in life is conditional. There is nothing that comes unconditional and free. But I thought love is unconditional. There is no “if”. Yet, little that I knew, it comes with strings attached too. “if” is a common word. From “if you reply I reply” to “if you have a job, car, house etc, I love you” these phrases make me sick. Although I was blessed to meet one of my friends who has no “if” in her love towards my childhood friend, people like that are rare. Except for the love that is undeniably unconditional, which is the love of a mother, unconditional love is something that is limited to Bollywood movies I suppose.

Same Story in a Different Voice (Teri Meri)

For all of you who are not big fans of the song Teri Meri from the movie Bodyguard, this one might set you in a different mood. The guy who remixed the Kolvery song Arjun (Apperently he is Sri Lankan) has done this remix with English vocals. Again I encourage you to browes through other songs of the artist. They are mostly covers and remixes.

Same Story in a Different Voice (Tum Jo Aaye)

This is another one of my favourits which is only slightly different from the original, which is a duet. The singer is Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and the movie is Once a upon a time in Mumbai. Since I mentioned Rahat Fateh Ali Khan there are so many beautiful songs of him. I like the style of his singing and the music. Somehow he gets songs with awesome music. Checkout the first video and some of the others I have linked as well.

Tum Jo Aaye

Is It The Weather? or The People?

There is no doubt that I will miss England the day I leave. But what I’m not sure is what exactly I would miss. Would it be the weather that is so mild  yet so freezing at times? or would it be the unpoluted air I breathed over four years that is so refreshing? Or can it be the well established institution that amazed me with their carefully planned systems and infustructures? Or simply can it be the people, who are so diversed, yet mind their own business and live independently? I do not know. What I’m most certain is that I will miss the freedom that I enjoyed so much over these years. The freedom that let me do whatever I want, and let me think and talk. It is so addictive, which explains why people are fighting for. In fact, it is worth fighting for. I guess it is a challenging times that is to come. And it will define who I am.

Same Story in a Different Voice (Ik Tu Hi Tu Hi)

This perhaps is one of the best I found has a remix which sounds nicer than the original. Little bit similar to the original song though but Wadali brothers have done a very good job in this “Mehfil mix”. There is an interesting story behind Wadali brothers which I encourage you to search. In fact I read that even the discovery channel is planning a program on them (may be its already produced). Again, you are more than welcome to read the meaning of the song.

Same Story in a Different Voice (Yeh Honsla)

This is another a remake of one of my favourite songs from the movie Dor. I cannot recall watching the movie though. But I like the song and it’s music. You are encourage to listen to the original before listen to this cover song. This cover is done by Jonita Gandhi who is a Canadian born vocalist. This apparently is a collaboration with two guys name Akash and Sahil. I especially want to say that you must checkout their YouTube channel, 88 Keys to Euphoria, which has some amazing collection of cover songs, including my favourite Thum Hi Dheko Na from the movie Kabhi Alvida Na Kehena and also a reply to the popular Kolveri song. The vocalist Jonita is also very talented and has few more covers done with the same duo. Hope you like the difference.

Same Story, in a Different Voice

I’m planing to post some of the Hindi songs that are very popular. But there music or perhaps the singer is different from that of the original. Some of these “remixes” are Bollywood movie songs. Most of these remixes are not included in the movies, but they are in the title album. Sometimes it feels good to listen to the same tune, same song, but with a different style. It brings a different perspective.

To begin with I’m posting this beautiful Bengali song written by Rabindranath Tagor which I used to listen when I was growing up. I hadn’t got a clue about the meaning yet the melody was stored in my mind. Thanks to one of my friends from Bangladesh, I was able to recall the song and find it. However this song is sung by Shreya Ghoshal, which was not the case with the original one I used to listen.
